Three Key Questions on Culture, Cultural Heritage and Climate Change

DISCUSSION ON THE “LOSS AND DAMAGE” APPROACH The category “Loss and Damage” was introduced by the ICOMOS report Future of our Pasts and it embraces actions to be undertaken when mitigation or adaptation to climate change are no longer possible. This category introduces the idea that not all cultural heritage can be saved, or at least not in the actual or in the best condition. We would like to analyse whether a discourse focusing on loss and damage can be effective in fostering change, outside any ethical perspective.
